Just so you know, this is an old pic I did with one of the biggest rants ever, for the most part, I just don't care as much at the moment anymore, but as this was something huge I wrote, it seems a shame to lose it, so I am reposting the entire rant here. Just remember, this picture is old and my opinions have changed, so don't take this seriously. I moved it into the scraps as I don't believe in what I said here anymore.

After seeing some certain fans and how they are, I just had to draw this, because they ARE wrong, I'm sorry but I have wasted my life watching Television and paying attention to the background music, the voices and the acting, the situations, and use of diologue, and trust me and many others when we say 4Kids IS a bad and uncaring company. Not only that, but they are also a threat, not a deadly one but in many certain ways they are, like to my dream of being a voice actor which I will later in this description.

VOICES:
I am mainly going to rant about the One Piece and Sonic X 4Kids voices here as they got the heaviest damage in my opinion. For Sonic X compared to the game voices, Sonic's voice is very badly executed, enthusiasem is in Sonic's personallity and Jason Griffith has never given it to Sonic, in fact many of his lines are easily noticed as poorly executed compared to the performances Ryan Drummond and Jaleel White gave for Sonic, Jason doesn't act as any of them, lacks the same amount of attitude and enegry they put into Sonic. I noticed some could not stand Sonic sounding excited, but that's pretty stupid, you can't handle that, it's a realistic emotion many people in the real world show, and with what Sonic goes though, he would show it, now he never does, it's totally sarcastic, and as such, Sonic now sounds like he doesn't care about crap, not his friends, not is goals, not anything, seriously, why did they hire such a bad actor? Also the voice compared to the two previous voices (and this may just be a personal opinion but I do consider it a majority one as most people agree with me) sounds really dweeb and dorky. With Ryan Drummond, the tone of his voice was in some ways identical to Jaleel White's which may have been what Sega was going for to make Sonic not to unfamiliar with people but I don't know (I will make a comparison later to show it). The child voices are something that offends me greatly in this, with Tails, he was always voiced by a child voice actors from the DIC Entertainment series, Bradley Pierce in Sonic the Hedgehog (SatAM) was about 10 when he started voicing Tails which was very authentic for the character as Tails was 10 years old in that series. In the Sonic Adventure games, Corey Bringas who voiced Tails in those games was about 13 or 14 when he started to voice Tails and he gave a decent child voice but I felt it was a little old for the character compared to the previous voices and that Tails is 8 in the games compared to the two year older difference in SatAM and it sounded older as well. After Corey Bringas got his voice deepend, 8 year old William Corkery took on the role and as he was an actual 8 year old, that gave 8 year old Tails the most authentic voice in the games, not only that but it was identical to the young and childish sounding Japanese voice in the Sonic Adventure games as well. Amy Palant however does not even provide a child boy tone, while many child characters are voiced by females, many of them professionally give a young boy's voice to a boy on many shows (Jimmy Neutron (The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron), Shippo (InuYasha), Tommy Pickles (All Grown Up), Dil Pickles (All Grown Up), etc.) but Amy Palant is not one of them, no boyish tone, not even a neutral tone, it's 100% girly, which actually makes sence that all before that voices was only given to female characters, 4Kids could have chosen better as I have heard their other voices for other character, very poor choice. Cream the Rabbit is a worse disaster, in Japanese she has a very cute and childish voice for her done by Sayaka Aoki. In Sonic Heroes her voice by Sarah Wulfeck was okay, as it did have many childish areas in tone for a little girl, however Rebecca Honig is down-right terrible, it's extremely screechy and hard to understand, as such many people hate Cream for the voice but don't think it's her natural voice, it's not how Sega intended (though they did make the stupid desision for some damn money to switch the the 4Kids voices). They intended for her to be a very cute and innocent character. Has anyone ever watched Disney's TaleSpin animated series? If so remember Molly Cunningham? She's was a 6 year old cartoon character, and I think her actress was a child voice actress, therefore that shows you what a REAL little girl around that age sounds like. Also Full House in Season 1 with Stephanie Tanner (played by Jodie Sweetin) who was 5 or 4 years old in the first season when she played the role so her voice in Seasons 1 to 3 or more is a good example of how a real 6 year old girl sounds. Same thing goes for Michelle Tanner (played by twins Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen) who were actresses since they were babies. So as they grew up they are more great examples throughout Full House. After you listen to all those examples I mentioned you can easily tell how imitated and bad for a child Rebecca Honig sounds. Charmy Bee is also a poorly executed voice by 4Kids, I know many don't like the Heroes voice as they found it annoying but NEWS FLASH, it's in Charmy's description that he is hyper and scatterbrained, he's also 6 years old, he's SUPPOSED to be annoying, the 4Kids voice is 100% out of character by age and personallity, a 6 year old boy does not sound like that and Charmy is not sarcastic like that, that acting is near as bad as Jason Griffith's Sonic acting if not worse. More to the evidence on this, I have seen videos of myself from when I was a kid, I used to sound near identical to Charmy Bee by voice and such and I live near two schools and a playground so I hear children all the time, Emily Corkery was a female who provided a REALISTIC boy's voice and I know from experience on both television and in real life (I am also training to be a voice actor so I have to study the other performances of others if I want to know what is good and how to be great myself), so I will end with this which is actually a harsh thing to say but as I have strong feelings on voice acting I will say it anyway, if you prefer Charmy's 4Kids voice over his Heroes voice, then you either hate kids or Charmy, I can't say which but I will say this, "Pick one!" So I have STRONG feelings on the child characters who were voiced by 4Kids but another problem is Rouge, her voice compared to her original is very bad as it makes her sounds like she's been smoking since the last games and also she's supposed to be 17, this voice makes her sound 30 to 40. Also I find the voice VERY stereotypical and I hate that stuff a lot, just because she looks sex appealing doesn't mean she should sound like a hooker (I hear to many hooker characters with those voices) and anyone who thinks just because she looks like it so she should sound like it is racist in my opinion. The old voice matches her feminine and flirty personallity and it is full of emotion unlike the 4Kids one which has very little emotion and also sounds more inappropriate when she flirts. Now I will mention a couple of One Piece voices, Luffy is a 17 year old yet his 4Kids voice makes him sound 8 to 10, his Japanese one is boyish but is more clear and mature so it fits better. Ussop sounded like a teenager in Japanese and kinda annoying at times, but he was still funny. His 4Kids one however has a tone that seems both stereotypical to his looks and also sounds stereotypicly gay, and the acting is extremely bad, but then again, it's Jason Griffith, he's a bad actor so what else would you expect? The Ussop Pirates Carrot, Pepper, Onion (English names but that's okay as their Japanese names mean those in English) have the voices of children in Japanese as they are children but with 4Kids, they sound REALLY bad, so very freaking imitated. With Yu-Gi-Oh, the voice of Insector Haga (Weevil Underwood in the 4Kids dub) in Japanese he had a kid's voice as he is a kid, but in the 4Kids dub, his voice is nothing like a kid's, it seems imitated to it and also stereotypical to his love for insects and insectish apperence and so forth. I will explain my bigger problem with this at the bottom of the description.

MUSIC:
In some areas the replacement music is not all that bad but with many shows nowadays by 4Kids (to me One Piece and Sonic X being the worst) the music is very annoying and removes the seriousness of the anime making it cartoony and rediculous. Like everytime Sonic spinsdashes on the show, this annoying music comes up that also sounds out of tune, removing the seriousness of the action happening, and also the villain music instead of a serious tone score, it becomes this goofy score, Also for the times the characters are being serious for those moment where there is no background music originally to make it more serious, it's added it with an out of emotion score, and at times of very emotional moments, we are given music less emotional therefore killing the happy, sad or angry parts of the show. It's not Americanization, it's Stupidification. Seriously Saban which produced edited anime with alterations changed the music, but they used music that at least left in the emotion, especially on Digimon.


DIOLOGUE:
Why the diologue is always changed to not include any references to death or anything dark is stupid. Many kids shows, even those of today contain them, Arther contains references to death and that's a PBS Kids show that airs in the mornings for little kids (and is also a show that is well acted with realistic voices as well as good music included). And to mention Disney's TaleSpin again, the episode "Bearly Alive" mentioned death many times, like Rebecca Cunningham actually told Baloo "You're Dying" as she thought he was and the words kill have been used on the show many times as well and that word was also used on Arthur as well. Also the word "gory" was used on TaleSpin as well. TaleSpin is a show for kids and made to be family friendly and yet it's allowed to include all that stuff. I find it insulting, 4Kids doesn't treat kids like kids, they treat kids like idiots. And it's also offencive changes to fans of the original material as well, and kids are fans of the original material as well and see death all the time in movies so it's a stupid thing to change in diologue. Before 4Kids became the worst dubbing company on the face of the earth, Saban was considered the worst American dubbing company, however it allowed references to death in diologue, like on Digimon Adventure when Kari was a little kid and got sick and nearly died, Saban kept it as that, actually having Tai say "She nearly died once because of me", and while this part counts and a change and not diologue, they left in Tai's slap mark on his cheek. And on Season 2 Cody kept saying he didn't want to KILL anymore Digimon, same goes for Season 3, Takuya refered to Rika and Renamon as KILLING Digmon, so what does that say about 4Kids? Especially as Saban's shows were on the same network television channel as 4Kids is now? Also the shows could do without the stupid puns.


EDITS/CUTS:
Now a lot of people say that if anime is going to air for kids in the US that is has to be edited, and I will say this, I AGREE! Yes, I do agree that if an anime is going to air in the US and be appropriate for kids, it does have to be edited, but 4Kids over does it to a more then extreme level. Examples: In Ojamajo Doremi (Magical DoReMi) episode 2, the last scene where Doremi (Dorie) lost her chance to eat steak was removed, it was a 100% appropriate and child/family friendly scene and yet 4Kids cut it out anyway. Another example: In episode 16 of Sonic X, there is a scene where everyone is getting IDs and such, there is a part where Cheese get's a Pet Certificate which upsets Cream and Cheese, there was nothing offencive about the footage nor the diologue and yet 4Kids cuts it out anyway. Also 4Kids edits out near all text, including English text that you would see on everyday places like an open sign or such and even the name on Vector's hanky and even worse that Tails reads it therefore making a VERY idiotic and unessicary edit. Al Kahn said kids don't read, well then Mr. Kahn, don't you think you should be encouraging kids to read? If so then why do you edit out reasonable and very appropriate text? Kind of offencive don't you think? They also edit out emotional scenes that would make the show really happy or sad and it's also nothing inappropriate as it's also just like stuff shown on Digimon's English dub by Saban and Arthur on PBS Kids.


CHANGES:
Now a lot of the changes are actually quite stupid and pointless, some even completely alter something completely unoffencive about the character or plot to something completely different from the original material. Some like making Hazuki (Reanne) on Ojamajo Doremi (Magical DoReMi) a vegitarian which she is not and there was nothing wrong with how the footage and diologue originally was, nothing offencive to kids or parents or anyone. The changing of a gun pointed at someone's head to an extending hammer gun which a completely stupid change, a change to a regular mallet would have been less stupid. Diologue mentioned again the changing of it to make it completely different from the original storyline even though there was nothing offencive about the original. This change I am mentioning really offends me, on Yu-Gi-Oh! a man who was arrested in Ancient Egypt and was supected of being a terrorest was digitally given a beard and turban to make him look muslim, and there was nothing wrong with how he originally looked, he looked just like everyone else, that change is far out racist and can lead to kids who may download the episodes in the original Japanese format and also seeing the dubs asking parents a lot of questions which will lead to a lot of answers on race and even possibly leading to kids becoming racist. Another offencive change is the removal of all Japanese culture from the anime dubs, no other anime dubbing company, not even Saban has edited out Japanese culture to an extent like that, infact all other dubbing companies keep the setting in Japan and leave in Japanese text in the background at times as well. The name changes are also offencive as well, yes many dubbing companies have changed the first names of characters but they usually leave in the last names of the characters in their orignal Japanese titles. 4Kids leaves in nothing of it, I promise you no other company has deleted Japanese culture or anything to the extent 4Kids has, basicly 4Kids is denying Japanese culture and not letting kids learn about it.


FINAL STATEMENTS:
Of changes, I have actually met some people who love 4Kids as they hate Japan therefore showing evidence that 4Kids helps promote racism. Also what if a future voice director who thinks the 4Kids voices were good directed the acting in a play or show, it would become very bad and such, and as I want to be a voice actor, what if I was directed by one of these people, I would be ordered to give a terrible performance which is something I do not want to do, I want to be a good voice actors, so 4Kids is a threat to my dream. Plus these unrealistic voices and such could also lead to the future being full of a majority of English made cartoons with terrible voices and acting so it's a threat to future television and movies as well. I know some people say "get a life, it's just a TV show" but that's not true. Just like a statue, a picture, and a play, a TV show is a form of artwork and that's how I see it. 4Kids' unnessicary changes, pointless edits, bad voices and acting and removal of culture is pretty much a complete destruction of Japanese artwork, and I can not tolerate that. Also the showing of new caring for the fans of the preexciting fanbase, even when the material was already introduced in the US by means of manga or video games shows more to it like the alteration of character's ages, interests names and such, and especially to Sonic which was already given well established English voices in America. 4Kids was even given the oppertunity to use Sonic the Hedgehog's american voice actor Ryan Drummond on their show so to please the fans of the games, and what did they do? They rejected him, they made some excuse that he was Californian and as 4Kids is in New York, he could not be Sonic on Sonic X, even though he would have come and stayed in New York at his own expence. Instead 4Kids continued to use the voice actors who worked for them. This shows a LOT of evidence that 4Kids doesn't give a crap about the fans. Plus they have also lied to anime fans as well as proven in this [link] . After all this, I can not longer tolerate 4Kids to even 1%, not even the fans, it's too big of a nasty company and such.

Please don't argue with me, the person in the picture just represents what I see 4Kids doing to people. And I HAVE met many people who are like that.
